Data recovery from NAS & Raid systems

Possible causes of raid failure include head crash, firmware/backplane issues, human error, and cyber and ransomware attacks.
Our certified data recovery engineers have a success rate of over 95% in recovering failed RAID systems.

Any kind of data loss

Physical and electronic damage, fire/water damage, deleted data, formatting.

All NAS manufacturers

Synology, QNAP, Western Digital, Buffalo, Netgear NAS, SanDisk, etc.

All servers

HP Enterprise, IBM, Dell, Super Micro, Lenovo, Fujitsu, Cisco, Huawei, etc.

Most preventable damage to RAID data occurs within the first sixty minutes of a human-caused failure.

Examples include the replacement of incorrect hard disks or RAID controllers, forced online states of hard disks, incorrect initializations and failed rebuilds.

In such cases, it is important to stop all activities and not to make any further changes to the original configuration of the system or storage devices. RAID is the foundation for servers, network attached storage (NAS) and storage attached network (SAN), and it is often not obvious if RAID is the cause of a problem.
Clear indications
  • Error messages
  • Audible alarm
  • LED alarm indications of the NAS/server
  • Unusual drive noise
More subtle hints
  • Data or database corrupt
  • File access is not possible
  • Logical drives not available
  • Volume is failed
  • System speed
  • NAS/server connection is interrupted
Human behavior
  • Faulty replacement actions of hard disks in the RAID configuration.
  • Damage to the RAID due to the use of the wrong RAID controller.
  • Forcing the online state of hard disks.
  • Incorrect initialization of hard disks.
  • Failed recovery operations (rebuilds).
  • Using incomplete backups to restore to the same system.
Technical defects (HDD/SSD)
  • Age / operating hours (mechanical wear of the hard disk mechanics due to friction of the components).
  • Electronic defect of the data carrier
  • Inferior quality
  • Corrupt firmware or mapping table
  • Current overvoltage (short circuits, lightning strikes, etc.)
  • High heat generation inside the housing with poor or missing heat dissipation

Legend

* The costs always depend on the cause of the data loss or the type of damage to mechanical or electrical parts.

You will receive a precise and binding data recovery quote after the free analysis has been performed.

** The duration of the analysis depends on the type and condition of the data carrier.

Please note

Data carriers that have already been opened outside a Class 100 clean room cause additional work. Therefore, we charge an expense allowance of CHF 200.00 in these cases, before the analysis.

For an internal storage medium (e.g. in a laptop, desktop, iMac, etc.), which must first be removed by us, we charge a flat rate of CHF 50.00 (even if the order is cancelled).

In case of cancellation of the offer we charge a handling fee of CHF 50.00 plus VAT. CHF 25.00 shipping costs for the return of the data carrier. The analysis remains free of charge.

Demolition after order placement

If you cancel the order after you have already given us your consent to carry out the data recovery, we will charge 20% of the order amount if we have already started with the data recovery.
