Special case "helium-filled hard disks

Helium-filled hard drives set new standards in performance and capacity. However, they are more susceptible to damage, especially if not handled properly. Data recovery is much more difficult than with conventional hard disks and requires a different approach.

Free data recovery by the manufacturer
In the event of physical/mechanical defects that require the hard disk to be opened in a clean room, you can send the data carrier to the manufacturer. Data recovery is usually free of charge, even after many years. For more information, please refer to the website of the respective manufacturer.

In case of deleted data, the manufacturer does not provide any warranty. Here we are happy to help you.
Physical and logical damage

Typical causes

  • Vibration eg. by falling down, during transport or also by accidental bumping of the hard disk or the notebook during operation
  • Age / operating hours (mechanical wear of the hard disk mechanism due to friction of the components)
  • Electronics defect of the printed circuit board (PCB)
  • Inferior quality
  • Power surges (short circuits, lightning strikes, etc.)
  • High heat generation within the housing with poor or no heat dissipation
  • Humidity

You will receive a precise and binding data recovery quote after the free analysis has been performed.

Please note

Data carriers that have already been opened outside a Class 100 clean room cause additional work. Therefore, we charge an expense allowance of CHF 200.00 in these cases, before the analysis.

For an internal storage medium (e.g. in a laptop, desktop, iMac, etc.), which must first be removed by us, we charge a flat rate of CHF 50.00 (even if the order is cancelled).

In case of cancellation of the offer we charge a handling fee of CHF 50.00 plus VAT. CHF 25.00 shipping costs for the return of the data carrier. The analysis remains free of charge.

Demolition after order placement

If you cancel the order after you have already given us your consent to carry out the data recovery, we will charge 30% of the order amount if we have already started with the data recovery.

Your data in good and safe hands

We are aware of the responsibility when you entrust us with your data. Therefore, we always work according to the following criteria:

  • Your data enjoys all the highest priority and confidentiality
  • All recovered files will be deleted from our servers after copying them to the transport medium after 14 days at the latest.
  • Your data will not be opened by us at any time. Should it be necessary to open parts of your data due to a quality control, we commit ourselves to absolute confidentiality.
  • The recovered data is always sent or delivered to you encrypted.
